My Travel Bucket List

My travel bucket list is well pretty much every country on earth but I decided to try and choose ten. The ten places I would go if I found out I had a year to live. So here is my top ten bucket list for travel.

1. Russia

Russia has always been on my list ever since I was about 13 or so. I actually applied to go to Russia as an exchange student but due to their school system they wouldn't take kids over sixteen. I am still dissapointed as I am sure it would have been an amazing experience.

2. Iguazu Falls, Argentina

I have seen the Vic Falls and they were fantastic but this place just kicks anything you have ever seen. A true wonder of the natural world and apparently the bird and animal life has to be seen to be believed.

3. Paris, France

Yes I know its a bit corny and everyone says Paris but I have wanted to go to France ever since I studied French at school. Everytime I fly over France on my way somewhere else there is a little part of me that goes damn I wonder rather be there.

4. Rome, Italy

Why yes the eternal city is on my list. I am on a bit of a Europe kick at the moment and I have just fallen in love with this city. I have to go there and sooon.

5. Galapagos

My love of all things natural and interest in Darwin's works means that this is a place I really have to see in my life. It's not the easiest place to visit and I want to spend days if not weeks there. I am however determined I will get there.

6. New Zealand

If you have ever watched the Lord of the Rings movies then I am sure you also want to visit this island nation. There are a number of epic hikes that I would love to do in the South Island. The whole place seems to breathtakingly beautiful.

7. Patagonia

This is another one for epic hikes and some fantastic paddling. I just can't get over how stunning this part of the world is.

8. Mexico

This one is a bit of a cheat as I have actually spent time in Mexico but only a few days visiting ports from a cruise ship. I don't think I have ever fallen for a country so fast in my life. I love this place and I really want to spend a lot more time there. The history and the culture combined with great little bars, good food and fantastic beaches make this country the perfect holiday destination.

9. Japan

Japan has always fascinated me. I am terrified of the country but I also really want to see it. I have a very good Japanese friend who lives in Tokyo and I think having somebody from there travel with you will make things easier. This will be a holiday that will cost a fortune as Japan is very expensive but its definetly on the list.

10. The final spot goes to Vietnam

I am a bit of a history geek and the history of the far east and especially Vietnam interests me. I went to Thailand on my honeymoon years ago and it was truly the most incredible country. I would love to be able to further explore that part of the world.
